Elizabeth Hoby, afterwards Lady Russell, erected her own magnificent monument in 1609, as well as graves for her husband Sir Thomas Hoby, 1566, and his half brother Sir Philip, 1558. Both are fully armoured. Bisham Abbey may be a misnomer because it only existed for a few years after Henry VIII created and disestablished it in quick succession.
