Angus has it all, from the breath taking scenery of the rolling hills and glens to the sandy white beaches along the stunning coastline in the east of Scotland,Walk and cycle in Glen Lyon or fish in Loch Tay, much of Angus is taken up by the fertile farmland, famous for fruit-growing and for Aberdeen Angus cattle, on either side of the brief upland of the Sidlaw Hills,

The attractive old country towns serving this area include Monkifieth Forfar, Brechin and Kirriemuir, to the east is an interesting coastline, ranging from the famous links at Carnoustie, through the fishing town of Arbroath - famous for its smokies - and on up to Montrose, between the North Sea and its tidal basin.

North of Strathmore the hills become gradually bigger as the countryside merges into the Highlands, here you will find Long, tranquil glens that wind far between rolling hills and mountains, Glen Clova, Glen Isla, Glen Prosen and Glen Esk are collectively known as the Angus Glens and are amongst Scotland's more accessible areas for hillwalking, with some surprisingly craggy scenery around their uppermost reaches.

Angus is Home to some of the best golf courses in Scotland and is known as the Cradle of Golf, the region it has spectacular countryside, picturesque villages, and vibrant towns reaching the coast and estuary of the Tay.

In Angus you will find the fifth oldest golf course in the world, the Montrose Golf Links, and twelve miles north of Dundee lies the famous Championship course at Carnoustie which first hosted the Open in 1931, has done so seven times since, including in 2018, The Montrose Medal course, some of the holes on the Medal course run along the Angus coastline, offering some magnificent scenery, Ballumbie Castle Golf Course and the Camperdown Golf Course.
