The Auchroisk distillery is a whisky distillery in Banffshire, Speyside, The distillery building was started in 1972 and production began in 1974.

The spirit produced is light, fresh and citrusy and this is attributed to the water used in production, that is drawn from a local spring called Dorie's Well.

The water rises from the granite bedrock and then passes through sandstone to get to the surface and this give particularly soft water, that is highly sought after by distillers

The distillery is owned by drinks giant Diageo and contributes large amounts of its whisky towards high volume popular blends such as J&B Rare and Johnnie Walker Red Label.

Its first single malt was released as a 12 year old in 1986 under the name of 'The Singleton of Auchroisk', as it was believed that the name of Auchroisk was too difficult for non Scots to understand and recognise.

This name was abandoned in 2001 and recently a 10 years old has appeared as part of Diageo's Flora & Fauna range.

GlenAllachie derives from the Gaelic, Gleann Aileachaidh meaning Valley of the rocks.

An Independent, boutique Scotch whisky distillery.

The geology surrounding the distillery is dominated by Celtic runes and Pictish stones, and is the reason for the craftsmanship behind the unique branding.

The GlenAllachie logo was skill fully designed and chiseled into stone by a local letter sculptor, They wanted to create something eye-catching, rare and true to the roots surrounding GlenAllachie.

The water to the distillery comes from dam heads over 2 miles from the distillery,
Henshead and Blackstank flow into Beachshach Burn, which supplies the water directly to the distillery, and sits on the North East of Ben Rinnes.

The still house has two separate spirit safes which allows each set of stills to be operated independently.

As the distillery was designed to be gravity fed, the horizontal condensors make it easier to maintain a consistent temperature, or increase/decrease to alter the character of the spirit.

With 16 warehouses at GlenAllachie, they can store over 50,000 casks on site.

In July 2018 the GlenAllachie unveiled its first core range of aged single malts, ranging from 10-year-old cask strength, the flagship 12-year-old alongside 18 and 25-year-old bottlings, which have been specially selected by Master Distiller and industry icon Billy Walker.

The range is available from specialist retailers.

The GlenAllachie now has distribution in more than 28 countries.

Situated in Speyside at the foot of the Cairngorms mountain range on the banks of the Corrie Stream and River Livet, the skilled, time-served craftsmen and women at Tamnavulin Distillery have been creating the signature Speyside malt for over 50 years.

Tamnavulin distillery is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and to mark this special occasion, owners Whyte & Mackay will be releasing a new Tamnavulin expression into the UK market.

Gareth Morgan, Tamnavulin Distillery Manager, said:
‘We have a great team of craftsmen at the distillery, who are all extremely proud of the whisky they create.
The new double cask matured expression is the epitome of a Speyside malt; rich, smooth and refreshing and we are looking forward to its launch in the UK.’

Tamnavulin Single Malt Scotch Whisky is initially matured in American Oak Barrels casks before being finessed in sherry butts, bringing notes of toffee and apples, with a fresh palate of peaches, pineapples and pears.
