The tiny village of Invermoriston, which is located along the A82 around 20 miles from Inverness and a short distance from the town of Fort Augustus, and is located between Drumnadrochit and Fort Augustus. There, one can observe breath-taking views of the Highlands, including an incredible old stone bridge that spans some raging river rapids. There are trails through the woods that are clearly marked that go into the hills and through some lovely waterfalls.
The A87, which runs from Invergarry all the way through the rocky and magnificent Glen Shiel and under the shadow of the Five Sisters of Kintail on its way to Kyle of Lochalsh and Skye, is met by the A887 at Invermoriston, and from there it heads west through Glen Moriston. The Five Sisters of Kintail are located in the shadow of the Five Sisters of Kintail. The Highland community of Invermoriston was founded approximately seven miles to the northeast of Fort Augustus, at the point where the River Moriston empties into Loch Ness. Invermoriston is known as the "home of Nessie." The Glenmoriston Arms Hotel can be found right at the crossroads of the A82 and the A887 highways. Just across the street from the hotel is where you'll find the local convenience shop as well as a cafe.
In order to serve as a constant reminder that the Olympic torch made its way through the neighbourhood before to the London Games, the proprietors of the local convenience store created a small garden area that features a sculpture of a hand holding a torch high in the air.

The village war monument, which is also positioned at the road intersection and carries the names of six additional troops who died in WWII and 14 local people who died in WWI, is also there. The names on the memorial begin with "Village War Memorial" and proceed clockwise around the circumference of the intersection. Thomas Telford, a well-known Scottish engineer, was responsible for the construction of a charming humpback bridge that spans the River Moriston between the years 1805 and 1813. The bridge can be found literally just across from the village hall. Telford's Bridge, which had served as the primary crossing point for traffic travelling between Inverness and Fort Augustus until the current bridge was built in the 1930s, was rendered obsolete when the new bridge was built.

The construction took significantly longer than anticipated because the contractor was "lazy and inattentive" and the labourers were "idle." Due to the delays, the cost of the bridge ended up being approximately two thousand pounds higher than what was originally estimated, and the guarantor of the project, Sir John Campbell of Ardnamurchan, had to pay the additional money out of his own personal funds.

The Invermoriston Old Bridge was one of about one thousand bridges that Telford constructed in order to improve the flow of traffic across the Highlands. The Caledonian Canal followed the same plan from its construction in 1803 until its completion in 1923.

Book your accommodation for vacations in Invermoriston as this is a popular starting point for long-distance hikers who are attempting to complete the Great Glen Way. Along the A82 roadway is where the settlement may be found, namely at a crossroads with the A887. Glenmoriston, also known as Glen Moriston, is a river glen in the Scottish Highlands that extends from Loch Ness at the settlement of Invermoriston westward to Loch Cluanie, where it intersects with Glen Shiel. The Thomas Telford Bridge, which was built in 1813 and is a portion of Glenmoriston, is the most well-known feature in the community. Glen Moriston is also known as Glenmoriston. Both the A887 and the A87 motorways pass through Glenmoriston at some point.
