Discovering Drumlithie Holiday Stay Accommodation and Property Rentals

Drumlithie some 6 miles south west of Stonehaven just off the A94, is an old burgh of barony, one of the villages visited by the Butcher Cumberland after the 45 Rising, its Episcopal Church burned and its clergy imprisoned in the Tolbooth at Stonehaven.

It has been said of Druinlithie that ‘the only regular feature about it is its irregularity.

This was a weaving village with a loom in every cottage, and as centrepiece of the main street is the steeple built in 1777 as a bell-tower from which the weavers‘ mealtimes were regulated by the tolling of the bell.

By 1878 power-looms had almost ended the hand loom era, and now the steeple bell is rung only for weddings and other important events. This is often taken to be the original of Segget in Cloud Howe in Lewis Grassic Gibbon’s trilogy A Scots Quair for he was brought up on his father’s farm here. Drumlithie offers holiday accommodation in B&B and self catering properties.

Spend your vacation at a holiday villa that has its own private drive leading up to it. Find a glazed entrance door that opens to the dramatic hall, with an oak staircase that has glass side panels, find a cosy snug that has a beamed ceiling and a large raised wood burning stove with a stone arch, which is ideal for a gathering of family or friends taking a break from each other's company. Stonehaven is a great place to visit since it has everything to offer, including gorgeous coastline walks, golf clubs, and the historic Dunnottar castle. Additionally, it is only a short travel to Aberdeen and a simple drive south to Dundee. Visitors to Scotland who would like to explore the country can make use of Scotland Holiday Accommodation Guide.

Make your reservation at a log cabin that provides a bright and airy lodging by avoiding the following compromises: The kitchen, dining area, and family room are all open to one another and have French doors that go out to the garden. This space is wonderful for alfresco dining with a family-sized barbecue, and there is also a separate lounge that is suitable for hosting more formal gatherings.

The realm of Mondynes may be found not far from Drumlithie, and it is in this region that we once more come across the history of our Kings and the conflicts they fought to maintain their dominance.

It is said that King Duncan the Second died here, and the location where he was killed, in a field at Mill of Mondynes, is commemorated by a big standing stone. According to local legend, the stone needs to be whitewashed at all times in order to preserve its significance. Make a reservation at a bed and breakfast in the charming coastal town of Stonehaven that is conveniently close to a wide variety of excellent shops, restaurants, and the Olympic-sized Stonehaven Open Air Pool.

This makes for a wonderful home base from which to venture out and discover the nearby locations, such as Royal Deeside and Angus. Whether you are there for business or leisure, you will have access to great commuting links to Aberdeen, which is located to the north, and Dundee, which extends all the way to London via train and car. Spend the night in a vacation home. Located in a peaceful village in the centre of Royal Deeside, this hotel is encircled by stunning gardens and provides breathtaking views of the countryside. There are a wide variety of beautiful routes nearby that are perfect for all levels of outdoor enthusiasts, from beginners to advanced hikers.

Friendly and hard working team at Drumlithie Inn who have transformed this venue into a place that is very welcoming. Excellent pub menu, wide selection of beers and spirits. Sky sports for the big occasions. Great to meet people who are travelling from outside the village to enjoy the Drumlithie Inn.
