Dornie village this is a small former fishing village that is nestled in the magnificent western Ross-shire.
The village is located at the meeting point of Loch Duich, Loch Alsh and Loch Long, There was formerly a ferry but was replaced by a bridge in 1939. Near the village only a short walk is the world-famous Eilean Donan Castle, the most photographed castle in the world, a path from the village leads inland to the falls of Glomach,
The village itself runs alongside the water with a variety of homes, a tiny shop, a hotel and two bars. The nearby Skye Bridge on the well-known Road to the Isles.

The north side of the glen is formed by the famous Five Sisters range, Opposite is the South Glen Shiel Ridge offering seven Munros, East of Glen Shiel the mountains around Loch Cluanie.The Falls of Glomach near here have been said to be the most dramatic waterfalls in Britain. The area offers fine walking for all standards of ability with fanastic veiws on offer in one of the most beautiful parts of the highlands.
The surrounding loch's and mountain scenery are typical of the Scottish Highlands. For ramblers there are easy lochside and riverside walks. Dornie is a popular area for bird watchers and there is a good chance to see a golden eagle or the rare white tailed sea eagle, which breeds on Skye.
