Corrimony Chambered Cairn Reviews and Attractions for your stay in the Glen Urquhart area. The Corrimony Chambered Cairn is a cairn of the "Clava type" that has been remarkably preserved throughout the years. It illustrates the expertise and forethought of the people who constructed it because a significant amount of resources were used in the construction of its cemetery, and unlike at Clava, a significant portion of the roof of the passage still stands. The cairn may be found in a glen, and...

Each season brings a different experience at our nature reserves. In spring, the air is filled with birdsong as they compete to establish territories and attract a mate.  In summer, look out for young birds making their first venture into the outside world.

In autumn the area brings large movements of migrating birds, some of them heading south to a warmer climate, others seeking refuge in the UK from the cold Arctic winter. In winter, look out for large flocks of birds gathering to feed, or flying at dusk to form large roosts to keep warm.

The nature reserve is important for wildlife.  The RSPB Scotland welcomes responsible visitors to the reserve,

Please keep in line with the Scottish Outdoor Access Code especially during the ground-nesting bird breeding season from the1st of April to the 15th of August,

And at all time's
Please keep your dog close to you, preferably on a short lead,
