Clachnaharry is a suburb of Inverness standing where the Caledonian canal reaches the Beauly Firth about 2 miles west of the city centre. It is a former fishing village.

There is a monument at the west end of the village commemorating a battle between the Clan Mackintoshes and the Clan Munro's in 1454following a dispute over tolls. It is said that the Mackintosh's chief Malcolm Og Mackintosh was killed during the battle. The Battle Monument can be seen on the hill above the village where the men would have once kept watch.

While we were staying in a hotel in Inverness, we went on a walk to explore the lochs at Clachnaharry and decided to eat lunch there. During our trip, we discovered a beautiful little pub that made for an enjoyable afternoon.
