The town of Nairn is a short run from here and features long sandy beaches that have been awarded the Blue Flag as well as long promenades that compete with some of the popular tourist beaches in the south of England.

Its one-of-a-kind microclimate also contributes to the fact that it receives less precipitation and enjoys more hours of sunshine each year than neighbouring towns that are only 15 miles distant. You will find the well-known Scottish castle and grounds here, known as Cawdor Castle. This castle has been home to the same family for more than 600 years.

You can spend the day shooting clay pigeons at the Rothiemurchus Clay Shooting Ground, which is located in this region. The famous Culloden Battlefield and visitors centre are located in this area.

The Nairnshire Farming Society was established in 1798, and each year they put on the Nairn Show, which is considered to be the most important event on their calendar. It is one of the most important annual events in Nairn and is a popular draw not only with locals but also with people coming in from the neighbouring districts and tourists.

The show is typically held on the final Saturday of July between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm, and it features a diverse selection of commercial booths on the field in addition to popular and well-attended livestock competitions that include sections for cattle, sheep, and horses.

It is highly recommended that you pay the Marquees a visit because there will be competitions for horticulture, wine, honey, baking, and handicrafts in addition to the craft market and food fair.
