Cannich is a poular location for visitors wishing to explore Glen Affric which is one of the most beautiful Glens in Scotland with it's many walks and outdoor activities. The village offers holiday stays in B&B as well as caravan and glamping accommodation and a good general store and post office.

Cannich now much increased in size firstly on account of the houses built for the Hydro-Electric Board and now as a desirable place to live with it's easy access to the wonderful walks and scenery of Glen Affric, Cannich village stands at the mouth of Glen Cannich near the west bank of the river Glass. These houses are well grouped, and give the appearance of being built to last: they are made of stone. Some 2 miles south west is Fasnakyle power-station situated on the banks of the River Glass and at the mouth of Glen Affric.

It was opened in 1952 and is built of golden-yellow sandstone from Greenbrae quarries at Hopeman.

In order to make this highly modern development consonan with its surroundings,  it bears plaques representing symbols of the type found on old Celtic stones.

A beautiful loch to stroll (or run) around with breath-taking views. You may just park at the last car and walk up the valley, but make sure you are fully prepared for your journey.
The fee of parking was inexpensive due to the presence of bathroom facilities and picnic seats in the parking lot.
