The village of Dunvegan is located on the shores of Loch Dunvegan in the northwestern part of the Isle of Skye. It is famous for Dunvegan Castle, which is the seat of the Clan MacLeod. Here, you will find lovely woodland walks and the nearby Coral Beaches. Here, you will also find hotels, a bakery, restaurants, general stores, a medical centre, a gasoline station, and a primary school.

The coastline of Loch Harport, which may be found on the Minginish Peninsula, which is situated on the western side of Skye.

Carbost is a small community located in the vicinity of the Cuillin Mountains. It features a general store, a post office, a doctor's office, a primary school, and an inn. Also located in Carbost is the world-famous Talisker Distillery.

Elgol is a charming fishing village that can be found in the south-western corner of the Isle of Skye. From here, one may get breathtaking views of the Small Isles.
The town of Elgol serves as the starting point for hikes to Camsunary Bay, Blaven, and Loch Coruisk.
The township of Glengrasco is located near to Portree on the B885, and the village of Edinbane can be found close by on the A850. Both of these locations are in the centre of the island between Portree and Dunvegan.

Uigshadder is a crofting community that is located about four miles from Portree.

Kilvaxter is a crofting village that can be found in the north of Skye on the Trotternish Peninsula. It is located roughly 5 miles to the north of Uig, which is approximately 15 miles from Portree, the most populous town on the island.

Uig provides a variety of amenities, such as a general store and bakery in the village, a gas station with a shop, a hotel, and two pubs in addition to the village hall. A short distance to the north, at Kilmuir, you will find the Primary school.

Portree's town centre is home to a variety of additional amenities, such as a secondary school, retail establishments, financial institutions, and sports facilities.

The ferry port to the Western Isles is located in Uig, in addition to a variety of small stores, a filling station, pub, hotel, and the Isle of Skye brewing firm. Uig is also home to a number of hotels.

Glenhinnisdal is a lonely valley that gets its name from the River Hinnisdal, which flows through the glen on its way to the ocean. It is located just off the main A87 road that connects Portree and Uig and is tucked away down a quiet lane that has no through traffic.

Dunhallin is a dispersed crofting settlement that is located about halfway along the Waternish Peninsula, which is a major tourist destination. The region is made up of small crofting townships, primarily on its western side. This is a historical location with coastline and forestry trails.
