Kintail Hospitality Accommodation

Kintail is a small district in the superbly scenic Mackenzie and Macrae country at the head of Loch Duich on the main route to Kyle of Lochalsh and Skye. The Clan Macrae came to the district in the 14th cent to serve the Mackenzies.

later earls of Seaforth, as fighting men becoming known as the 'Macken- zies' shirt of mail. The Five Sisters of Kintail rise dramatically from the head of the loch to heights of over 3,000 ft. They are among the steepest grass-sloped mountains in Scotland and offer extensive views from their summit ridges, from which can be seen a striking profile of the Cuillins of Skye.

This is a lovely setting with mountain vistas and panoramic sea loch views, and Kintail is located on the B9117, just a short distance from the Sky bridge and along from the settlement of Rothiemay. Right on the banks of Loch Duich and the five sisters of Kintail, this location couldn't be more picturesque.

This region is full of wildlife on land and in the sea, these include all types of birds including eagles flying in vast open skies over beaches and the hills you can spot all types of wildlife fauna and flora changing with every season. Here you are within easy reach of Skye, Glenelg, and the Sandaig the Isles that are famous for the book and the film of Gavin Maxwell's "Ring of Bright Water."

In addition, there is a primary and preschool educational facility, a retail establishment, a post office, and a motel.

Stay in a variety of different accommodations to find something that works for your budget. You have your choice of a family-friendly vacation home with double, twin, and single rooms, staying in a beach hut with stunning loch or mountain views, or a bed and breakfast that serves breakfast each morning while overlooking glorious lochs or garden views, and all of these options are priced to accommodate a variety of budgets.
