Rassal Ross and Cromarty, One of the few nutural or semi-nutural ashwoods in Britain and certainly the most northerly. Rassal is 202-acre Nature Reserve near the head of Loch Kishorn The woodland only occupies about 30 acres but the appearance of the wood is unusual because the limestone hass been weathered into slabs that have been covered with soil and turf to form hummocks, among which the trees grow. At one time copper was also mined here. Rassal Latitude Geolocation...

Evanton is a small village located in the Highland council area of Scotland. While it may not have as many tourist attractions as larger cities, there are still a few places of interest in and around Evanton. Below are some attractions you might consider visiting.

Fyrish Monument: Just north of Evanton, on Fyrish Hill, stands the unusually designed Fyrish Monument. It recalls the gates of Negapatam in India and was constructed in 1782. The monument is a well-liked destination for walkers and hikers because it provides breathtaking views of the surrounding area.

Black Rock Gorge: The River Sutor built a stunning, constricting gorge called Black Rock Gorge close to Evanton. The gorge offers a lovely environment for a walk or hike thanks to its high cliffs, footbridge, and waterfall. It is particularly well-known for its connection to the Harry Potter movie, as one of the scenes was filmed there.

Dalmore Distillery: A short distance from Evanton, the Dalmore Distillery may be of interest to whisky enthusiasts. You can join a guided tour to learn about the whisky-making process and drink some of Dalmore's high-quality single malt Scotch whisky.

Cromarty Firth: Evanton lies close to the picturesque Cromarty Firth, a sizable strait renowned for its flora and fauna. You can take leisurely strolls along the beach, look for seabirds and seals, or even go on a boat excursion to learn more about the firth.

Castles nearby: There are a number of old castles within easy driving distance of Evanton that are well worth visiting. The ancestral residence of the Earls and Dukes of Easter Ross, Dunrobin Castle, is a notable example. Another one is Cawdor Castle, which is close to Nairn and is well-known for its connection to Shakespeare's "Macbeth."

Even though Evanton itself may not have many attractions, its position in the Scottish Highlands gives visitors access to stunning scenery, important landmarks, and outdoor activities. During your visit, there will be lots to see and do if you explore the neighbourhood.
