North Link Ferries runs a daily overnight ferry service from Lerwick that connects Shetland to Aberdeen on the mainland. Currently, islanders are entitled to discounted air and ferry travel.
The shortest of Shetland's three North Isles routes, Hamars Ness is accessible by a quick 25-minute ferry ride that departs from the nearby islands of Yell and Unst several times a day. It travels past the island of Linga before heading out to Fetlar's northwest corner. Hamars Ness is located off the east coast of Yell, near the northern end of Shetland.
The capital of Shetland, Lerwick, is approximately 28 miles north of Toft, where Yell & Unst is connected to mainland Shetland by a 20-minute ferry boat.
