Grimersta River Information Guide

Grimersta River, on Lewis some 17 miles west south west from Stornoway with a chain of small lochs at its head, is claimed to be the finest salmon fishing water not merely in Scotland but in Western Europe.

This fishing, needless to say, is not free like much of the trout fishing on these islands, and anglers are advised to consult the Western Isles Tourist Organization at Stornoway.

But the visitor may certainly freely enjoy solitude among the high hills of this golden eagle country, and the bird watching may he well rewarded.
