Glomach Falls a place to visit The Falls can be reached only on foot - the best approach is from the Dorusduain car park Forest Enterprise two miles off the north section of the loop in the old A87, the five-mile uphill path to the falls requires a reasonable level of fitness and rewards visitors with stunning Highland views and atmospheric misty conditions, it takes about five hours there and back to the car, for very fit and experienced walkers, leave the car by the Ling bridge, at the north end of Loch Long, and take the long route along Glen Elchaig before making the steep climb to the Falls. Allow 8 hours for the 7-mile hike. The Falls lie off the road between Cluanie and the Kyle of Lochhalsh north of the five sisters of Kintail, they are among the highest waterfalls in Britain, there is a sheer drop of 300 feet and a further 50 feet from the projecting ledge to the bottom pool. The National Trust for Scotland owns the falls and over 2,200 of surrounding land.

From the Kintail Countryside Centre in Morvich, follow the narrow surfaced road east, along the edge of a campsite, pass an outdoor centre then a Bed and Breakfast before crossing the River Croe on a substantial wooden and metal bridge across the water, a footpath then heads straight over the grass, were you will see a signe for the Falls of Glomach, pass a couple of rope swings then the path turns right to cross a small wooden bridge, it can be wet and muddy in places to the Falls There is a reasonable bus service along the A87, served by Citylink buses from Glasgow and Inverness.

There is a rail station in Kyle of Lochalsh which goes to Inverness via Dingwall, Many of the passengers on the trains are tourists but one can also expect to meet locals and commuters visiting Inverness for work or shopping, to maintain the passenger link beyond Inverness, one daily train runs through to Elgin to Glasgow, Edinburgh or Aberdeen, with connections to the rest of the UK, you can find all types of accommodation to suite all budgets from Bed and Breakfast, Hotels, Hostels and Self Catering. This area is ideal for hill walking, wildlife watching, visiting castles or just getting away from it all to enjoy the scenery.
