LAXFORD Sutherland The Laxford river and sea loch are both in Eddrachillis. Laxford Bridge, a little over 1 mile above the mouth of the river, is at the point where the road from Laig and the east divides to Scourie and the south and Durness and the north.
There are no buildings at Laxford Bridge. The name Laxford derives from Norse -- 'lax for salmon, and ford here meaning Fijord.
