Located in the heart of Scotland's Speyside region, Knockando Distillery is renowned for its production of single malt Scotch whisky. With a strong emphasis on tradition, this distillery boasts a rich history that is deeply ingrained in its whisky-making process. As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, I can provide a review based on the information available up to that point.
Knockando Distillery, established in 1898, is renowned for its rich heritage and deep-rooted traditions. The commitment to traditional whisky production methods is evident in this brand, which is part of the Diageo portfolio. The distillery is known for its commitment to preserving traditional methods that have been handed down from one generation to the next.
The primary focus of Knockando is its core range of single malt Scotch whiskies, which includes the Knockando 12 Year Old and Knockando 18 Year Old. Whisky enthusiasts often appreciate these expressions for their consistency and approachability. The 12 Year Old whisky has a flavour that is milder and fruitier, while the 18 Year Old whisky is known for being more complex and robust.
Flavour Profile: The Knockando single malts are known for their traditional Speyside character, highlighting delicate and refreshing flavours of fruits and flowers. Younger expressions of Scotch whisky are often preferred by beginners due to their lighter and more approachable nature. Older expressions often possess a greater level of depth and complexity.
Pricing: Knockando whiskies are known for their reasonable prices, especially when compared to other exclusive distilleries in the Speyside region. This makes them suitable for both individuals who are new to Scotch and those who are experienced whisky drinkers.
Packaging: The packaging of Knockando is known for its simplicity and classic design, which mirrors the distillery's dedication to upholding tradition. The brand's overall image is often complemented by vintage-style designs featured on the labels.
Availability: Knockando single malts are typically found in liquor stores and online, ensuring that individuals who wish to sample a bottle can easily locate them.
It's worth mentioning that the distillery's products can change and improve over time, and they may have introduced new variations since my last update. Hence, I suggest verifying recent reviews and ratings to acquire the latest information regarding Knockando Distillery and its whisky selections.
