Bressay Visitor Information Guide

Bressay the island east of Lerwick which acts as its shelter, has again to its east the much smaller island of Noss, a Nature Reserve and spectacular sea bird sanctuary in the care of the Nature Conservancy Council and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds.

This sheep grazed island, rising abruptly with vertical cliffs, culminates in the Noup some (592 ft) access is limited from Bressay. which in turn, now almost a suburb of Lerwick, is reached by passenger and vehicle ferries.
