Hermaness Visitor Information Guide

Hermaness or Herma Ness on the northern tip of Britain‘s most northerly isle, Unst, is 627 ft high and a noted Nature Reserve. This is an important breeding place of the great skua, which has a very restricted distribution in the northern hemisphere, and of Arctic skuas and red throated divers, while the sea cliffs have an expanding gannetry and colonies of kittiwakes and puffins.

Also in this Reserve are Muckle Flugga, the Outstack and the north west corner of Unst. There are no restrictions on access, but visitors should contact the Nature Conservancy Council officer at Brake, Bigton, Shetland.
