Inverasdale is a small crofting village overlooking Loch Ewe, in the north west highlands in the wild and beautiful landscape of Wester Ross is perfectly placed for exploring the hills and mountains of the Great Wilderness of the Torridons as well as the beautiful Fisherfield mountains and the far north to the hills of Sutherland, this is a peaceful place ideal for exploring the many deserted beaches in the area and perhaps take part in some of the many of the activities, sit and chill or stroll along a golden beach or walk the high tops of a Munro, study the bird life or take a boat trip spot whales, dolphins, otters, and other wildlife or go kayaking, canoeing, sailing or fishing, bring your camera or your paints to catch the beauty of the surroundings. There are many types of accommodation here from Bed and Breakfast Caravan and Camping and Self catering to suite all budgets.

There are nearby historical sites such as the Cove, with its memorial stone for the Russian Convoy Fleet that sailed from Loch Ewe to Murmansk during World War II and Badachro with the Fairy Lochs, known as the crash site of an American World War II bomber, The crew of nine and six passengers took off from Prestwick on the 13th June, 1945, returning home after the war.

The B-24H left at 1315 hours from Prestwick on a route that should have taken it over Stornoway, but we can only guess at why it came over the mainland, may be a navigational error, instrumental or engine failure, nobody is sure but for whatever reason, they found themselves descending through thick cloud to attempt an emergency. It seems the aircraft struck the top of Slioch and lost some bomb bay door parts, the descent continued until they broke through the cloud base over Gairloch, they circled once round the loch, possibly looking for a place to ditch, the aircraft was on the run into try and land when they just failed to clear the rocky spurs by the Fairy Lochs, all crew and passengers were killed. The walk to the fairy Lochs is on a good path high above Shieldaig, the views back over to Gairloch are magnificent.
