Downton offers some great outdoor activities for visitors to enjoy. It is located 6 miles south of Salisbury and just outside of the New Forest National Park. Downton is a prominent historic Wiltshire community that dates back to the 12th century. A thriving town with its own schools, supermarkets, pubs and businesses as well as a village hall and recreation grounds that include a football pitch, bowling green, and a leisure centre with a gym and tennis courts, it is home to a number of different nationalities. It is estimated that there are around 20 organisations and groups in the hamlet, in addition to a well-known village band. More than 20,000 people attend the Cuckoo Fair every year. The fair, which has over 250 craft and other stalls, along with live music, dancing, and other entertainment, attracts over 20,000 visitors each year. The hamlet is also known for its fishing, as well as for its award-winning local brewery and as a starting point for exploring the River Avon and the New Forest region.

First Stage Difficulty: Easy First Stage Information: Heading North, Pitlochry is located less than 90 miles from Edinburgh, travel on the A9, this is the main route for buses, coaches and cars. There's an excellent mix of things to do in and around Pitlochry, Explore the countryside, visit Blair Athol Distillery standing at the gateway to the Scottish Highlands. The Distillery produces a 12 Year Old Single Malt Whisky, with a mellow deep-toned aroma, a strong fruity flavour and a smooth finish. Climbing out of Pitlochry through the lovely little villages of Moulin, Straloch and Kirkmichael with stunning views changing at every turn through Perthshire followed by smooth descents and climbs through the moorland looking onto Glenshee and the Cairngorms, to Braemar and on to Ballater along the road to Gairnshiel Lodge up and over to Colnabaichin a stunning view of the next section of road sweeping up, up and up to the Lecht Ski Centre, then a fast descent into Tomintoul and Glenlivet. Third Stage Difficulty: Easy Third Stage Information: Then follow the route to Nethy Bridge and then Aviemore!! Aviemore is a town and tourist resort, it is just off the A9 main trunk road from the South to Inverness and beyond, situated within the Cairngorms National Park in the Highlands of Scotland. With Badenoch and Strathspey being within the Highland council area. The town is popular for skiing and other winter sports, and for hill-walking in the Cairngorm Mountains.
