Routes for Hiking:

This is a popular seaside walk that takes you from Lochaline to the old Ardtornish Estate. It begins at Lochaline and ends at Ardtornish. Along the trip, you will be treated to breathtaking vistas of the seaside, the surrounding forests, and the Sound of Mull.

The Ariundle Oakwood Nature Reserve is a nature preserve that can be found close to Strontian. This nature preserve features a number of hiking routes that are clearly designated and lead through historic oakwood woodlands. Birdwatching and appreciating the local flora and animals are both wonderful activities that can be enjoyed in this area.

Hike up to the lighthouse at Ardnamurchan Point, which is named after the point itself, starting from the neighbouring parking lot. The track is not too difficult to hike and offers breathtaking vistas of the wild coastline.

Even though it is not technically part of Lochaline, the Moidart Peninsula is home to a number of beautiful hiking paths, some of which are located close to the historic Castle Tioram and the enchanting Loch Moidart.

Routes for Cyclists:

Cycling the Morvern Loop is a great way to see the entire Morvern Peninsula from a different perspective. It features a variety of landscapes, ranging from views of the seashore to areas that are forested. It is important to be aware that some of the roads may be winding and have steep inclines.

From Lochaline to Drimnin: Take in the breathtaking views as you make your way from Lochaline to Drimnin, a little coastal village. The road provides passengers with stunning panoramas of the coastline as well as the chance to see many types of wildlife.

Routes for Motorists:

Morvern Peninsula trip: Beginning and concluding in Lochaline, this trip will take you all the way around the beautiful Morvern Peninsula. You may enjoy the scenic villages, take in the vistas of the shore, and stop at sights such as Kinlochaline Castle as you make your way along the route.

Explore the Isle of Mull by automobile, using Lochaline as your home base. The Isle of Mull is a beautiful place to visit. Take a trip to the vibrant town of Tobermory, pay a visit to Duart Castle, and take in the breathtaking scenery of the island.

Visit the Ardnamurchan Peninsula and take in the sights on your way to Ardnamurchan Point as you travel along the Ardnamurchan Peninsula Drive. You'll travel through some breathtaking scenery, quaint little towns, and important landmarks as you make your way there.

Please be aware that the roads in the area can be rather winding and narrow; as a result, you should drive with extreme caution, especially if you are not familiar with the surrounding area. In addition, because the weather in the Scottish Highlands is notoriously unpredictable, you should come prepared for any kind of scenario.

Check the local road and trail conditions before you begin on any outdoor activities. Additionally, ensure that you have the necessary maps, equipment, and supplies for the path that you intend to take. Have a wonderful time wandering around Lochaline and the places that surround it!

Please note: Please check prior to your activity that starting point has public parking areas or can be accessed using public transport.
