Ben Rinnes: Although it is not technically a part of the town of Forres, Ben Rinnes is a significant mountain in the vicinity that offers breathtaking views of the surrounding area. Hikers with experience will find that the walk is difficult but well worth the effort they put in.
The Dava Way is a lovely pathway that may be found between the towns of Forres and Grantown-on-Spey. It travels along the path of a defunct railway, so you'll see plenty of trees and fields on the way, and you'll also get some great looks at Cairngorms National Park.
Findhorn Heritage Trail is a hiking path that loops around the settlement of Findhorn and takes hikers through the picturesque landscape that surrounds it. Forres is not very far away. The path takes hikers through wooded areas and along the shore, and it affords spectacular vistas of the famous Findhorn Bay.
Culbin Forest is a sizable wooded area that can be found close to Forres. The forest features a variety of paths that are suitable for walking and cycling. The forest is a wonderful spot to go exploring because it features such a varied assortment of ecosystems as wetlands, dunes, and pine woods all within its boundaries.
Roseisle Forest is yet another wonderful location for hiking, and it can be found between Forres and Burghead. There is a path system there that leads through the woods and provides vantage points of the ocean. The paths are suited for hikers of varying experience levels.
