Marwick Head Visitor Information Guide

Marwick Head a little south from the Brough of Birsay and jutting out into the Atlantic, carries the square tower erected by the people of Orkney in memory of Lord Kitchener, the British War Minister, who, with all on board, perished when their ship on its passage to Russia in 1916 was sunk, supposedly by a German mine.

Marwick Head also has one of Orkney‘s most important colonies of sea birds.
