Strathfarrar cycling its virtually traffic free the road starts north of the bridge at Struy. Less than a mile up this road is a car park just before the gate that restricts vehicle access to the estate road up the glen.
Access is however always available to walkers and cyclists,
From the gate the road runs for 14 miles to the end of Loch Monar
Strathfarrar is part of the Affric, Farrar, and Beauly hydro-electric scheme. The main dam is at Loch Monar west of Struy, where an arch-type dam is used.
