Carrbridge Outdoor Activities Accommodation Guide

Carrbridge Outdoor Activities Accommodation Guide. here you will find amazing mountain bike trails, exploring the coast by sea kayak or climbing, skiing, boarding or walking in the mountains, white Water River Tubing, Family and WW Rafting, River Kayak/ Canoe, Canyoning on local rivers and gorge walking in the Cairngorms National Park.

The Carrbridge area is blessed with a fine mix of habitat which holds all the Speyside specialities.

Winter sees Redwing and Fieldfare in the woodlands and this can be a very good time to catch up with Crested Tit as many birds come into the gardens in the village to the numerous bird feeders.

The woods around the village are important for Capercaillie and can be seen from many of the recognised walks, please please stick to the paths and keep dogs on leads as this species is very prone to disturbance and we need to help them as much as possible, also listen out for Cross bills flying over.

This area is a Mecca for mountain bikers from around the UK and beyond, touring through the Slochd Summit, 1315 ft above sea level, and passing loop between Carrbridge station and the former Tomatin station.

The National Cycle Network route 7 also goes over the summit, largely following the old A9 and the Sustrans Inverness the Perth cycle route #7 goes through Carrbridge, this is part of the national cycle network for those interested in a more adventurous route and a moorland and forest walk from Slochd Summit to Carrbridge following one of General Wade's Military Roads.
