Enjoyed my stay in the lovely village of Drayton in Somerset

My time in the picturesque Levels village of Drayton, which is only eight kilometres (five miles) from Somerton in South Somerset, was quite enjoyable.

This charming village is home to 379 people, and the local church, St. Catherine, serves as the focal point from which all of the community's roads and streets radiate outward. The main street is lined with attractive homes. During the 15th century, the church was built in the perpendicular style using blue lias and golden hamstone as its primary construction materials. It is named after Saint Catherine since she is considered to be the patron saint of both philosophers and preachers. The inside is adorned with beautiful stained glass, and the bell tower contains eight individual chimes. In the churchyard, there is a cross from the 15th century as well as two large yew trees; the Doomsday Book makes a mention of the yew trees, indicating that they were probably planted to provide bows for soldiers.
