Boston, Lincolnshire Boston is situated 120 miles north of London, south-east of Lincoln, and north of Peterborough. Boston is known for its 14th-century Church of St. Botolph, also known as The Stump due to its ironically very tall tower, as well as the Guildhall Museum, Blackfriars Theatre & Arts Centre, Fydell House, and Maud Foster Mill. The city also has a long history of trade and a wealth of Georgian architecture. Boston, a market town in the east of the county of Lincolnshire, boasts a wealth of regional services and facilities, including a wide variety of national and regional retailers as well as recreational options such a swimming pool, bowling alley, movie theatre, and parks.

Within 45 minutes of the house are Gunby Hall, Tattershall Castle, Belton House, Woolsthorpe Manor, and Grantham House, all of which are National Trust sites.

Lincoln is around 30 miles to the north-east, Nottingham is about 70 miles to the west, Humberside Airport is about 50 miles to the north, Norfolk, which has miles of undeveloped sandy beaches and the Royal Sandringham Estate, is to the east, and Peterborough lies to the south-east. Through the A16 and A1, by rail on the quick trains from Peterborough, or by taking the train to Kings Cross, central London is about 115 miles to the south. Grantham is located on the same line as Edinburgh and is around 40 minutes away.
There are many primary schools in and near Boston, and one of the closest is St. George's, a top-notch independent prep school, which is only a short stroll away. St. Thomas State Primary, a state primary about one mile away, is rated Good by Ofsted. Boston High School, which is less than three miles away and has an Ofsted rating of Good, and Boston Grammar, which was established in 1555, are also options for public secondary education. There are a few highly coveted grammar schools in Sleaford further out: Carre's Grammar School, Kesteven & Sleaford High School (for Girls), and St. George's Academy, all of which were given Good ratings by Ofsted. Find a vacation rental Boston's market district is conveniently located nearby, as are the lovely Lincolnshire Wolds and shoreline. It is also close to the town's centre.

Find a hotel or spa that is well set back from the road and nestled between mature trees in the South Lincolnshire fens, just past the Pilgrim Hospital on the way out of Boston and on the bus route between Boston, Woodhall Spa, and the city of Lincoln.

There is a lot to see and do. Popular sites include the Guildhall, Blackfriars Theatre & Arts Center, and Maud Foster Windmill in addition to the Pescod Shopping Center. Additionally, the award-winning Ark Wildlife Park and Exotic Animal Sanctuary at Stickney is only a 15-minute drive away.

The National Trust's Gunby Hall & Gardens, the Bubble Car Museum near Langrick, and the beginning of the Lincolnshire Wolds, an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Excellent local sports facilities include three well regarded golf courses, a sizable indoor and outdoor tennis centre, and a range of sports facilities at the Peter Payne Sports Performance Centre.
