Kincraig is located along the A9 from Inverness and the airport, which provides flights within the United Kingdom to London, Manchester, and Bristol. There are also rail links from Aviemore, Inverness, and Aberdeen, which continue further south, with services running into England south to London Kings Cross and beyond.

The world-famous Speyside favourites The Glenlivet and Dalwhinnie are all produced in close proximity to this region, as is the ever-popular Cairngorm gin. Also found in this region is the Cairngorm distillery.

An outdoor activity centre is available in the neighbourhood at Loch Insh. In addition to a variety of water-based activities, the centre features a dry slope where skiers and snowboarders may perfect their skills.

Climbers and hikers will find trails to try along the Speyside Way and into the mountains along with the nearby Lecht and Glenshee ski centres for the winter months, offering skiing for both experienced and novice skiers. In the winter, take advantage of the snow sports that are available right outside your door at the Cairngorm Mountain Range.

Golfers will enjoy the 18-hole Spey Valley Championship Golf Course, which is available to them. The Kincraig Castle Hotel is owned by a family of golfers, and it is distinguished from other hotels in the Scottish Highlands by the fact that it features an on-site golf practise facility as well as a pitch-and-putt course with four holes that is located inside the grounds of the castle.

Within a radius of twenty miles from the hotel, there are a number of golf courses, the most well-known of which being the championship courses at the Royal Dornoch, Castle Stuart, and The Nairn Golf Club.

You will find here accommodations that are affordable regardless of your budget.

From a warm and welcoming bed & breakfast to a castle steeped in history and boasting expansive grounds that include a walled garden, moors, highland Mountains, lowlands, and lochs, guests may relax and unwind in front of a roaring open fire while taking in the majesty of their surroundings. Find a highland cottage with open views out to sea where you can while away the hours with a loved one while sitting around an outside fire pit or a jacuzzi soaking away with a dram while watching the sun set.

You can find accommodations here that are appropriate for any budget.

An ancient Celtic bell is worth seeing, as is the hollow stone said to have been used as a font by St Adarnnan , the biographer of St Columba. The low-lying and often flooded Insh marshes arc a reserve for waterfowl.

Observation hides are operated by the RSPB. At Kincraig the Highland Wildlife Park specializes in animals that were once common in Scotland. A few of the now all but extinct breed of Przevalski, or Asiatic, wild horses are also on proud display.
