Described the journey through the glen as one of the classic Highland journeys. See some of Scotland awe-inspiring scenery, through the famous and most beautiful Ben Nevis and Glen Coe National Scenic Area, one of 40 such areas in Scotland. A review of the national scenic areas by Scottish Natural Heritage in 2010 made reference to the "soaring, dramatic splendour of Glen Coe", and "the suddenness of the transition between high mountain pass and the lightly wooded strath" in the lower glen. The first part of this route, Arriving in Glasgow, by either plan, train or bus the Starting point is Milngavie on the edge of Glasgow following the route to Fort William at the foot of Ben Nevis, the route offers a fabulous introduction to the Scottish Highlands, past Loch Lomond, the vast expanse of Rannoch Moor, crossing the hills to Loch Leven, following this route you finally reach Fort William, it is about 150 miles. Once you reach Fort William you can then return to Glasgow via the train or Bus, the next part of this incredible journey is the start of the The Great Glen Way.
