Kinnairds Aberdeenshire situated In the very heart of the north part of Fraserburgh is Kinnairds or Kinnairds Head.

On this slate rock, rising 60 ft above the sea as a projection from the town. stands a square machicolated tower of four storeys built by Sir Alexander Fraser in 1574, He was of the family that was later to be known as the Frasers of Saltoun. The castle on the top of Kinnairds Head proved too exposed and the family of Fraser later moved to Philorth. On the rock now stands the first lighthouse established by the Commissioners of Northern Lighthouses, lt was put up in 1787.
