The Ferintosh Circular Walk is a relaxing route that circles the town while passing through the surrounding countryside. It provides stunning views of the forested areas, farmland, and rolling hills. The stroll takes two to three hours to complete and is rather simple.
The Fyrish Monument Walk leads to the well-known monument, which is perched atop a hill overlooking the Cromarty Firth. The monument, which is modelled after the Gate of Negapatam in India, was erected in the early 19th century. The moderately difficult trail has several steep sections and begins close to Alness, not far from Ferintosh. The breathtaking views from the top make the effort worthwhile.
Ben Wyvis: If you want a more difficult walk, think about taking on Ben Wyvis. A notable peak can be found northwest of Ferintosh. The peak ascent is strenuous and necessitates careful planning and preparation. Awe-inspiring panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and adjacent Munros (Scottish mountains exceeding 3,000 feet) are the reward.
A short distance from Ferintosh is a smaller hill called Ord Hill, which is situated close the Beauly Firth. For people of all ages and skill levels, it provides a choice of walking pathways. The trails offer possibilities for wildlife observation as they travel through open fields and woodlands. The trek gains historical importance from an Iron Age hill fort at the summit.
Chanonry Point: Although it is not a designated walk, it is highly advised to go there. It is well known for frequent dolphin sightings and is situated at the very tip of the Black Isle peninsula. You may possibly see bottlenose dolphins playing in the Moray Firth if you took a leisurely stroll down the shore.
Before starting any walks or excursions, don't forget to check the local weather and make plans accordingly. Additionally, it's always a good idea to let someone know about your plans and to have the right equipment, especially for harder
