Nice round Oak Park Golf Club

Since 2008, I have been a member of this golf club and have played on the Village Nine Course. I've also had a lot of rounds on the Woodland Course, which is an 18-hole course. If I had been excellent, you would think I would have improved after playing here for so many years. Unfortunately, this is not the case, as my long-suffering golf companion will attest. The golf course, on the other hand, is just fantastic. I genuinely find the Village Nine-hole course to be quite demanding, and having played other nine-hole courses, I have found this to be significantly superior in terms of overall difficulty. A single par 3, seven par 4s, and a single par 5 comprise the Village Nine. The grounds crews put in long hours on both the 9-hole and 18-hole courses to ensure that they remain in good condition. I have no complaints about the club, but I would caution that you must be a reasonably decent golfer to tackle the 18-hole course, since the first 10 to 14 holes can test even the most experienced players. The one thing that has ever bothered me about the Village Nine is the driving range that is right next to it. The first fairway runs parallel to it and then rotates through 90 degrees before continuing all the way across the end of the range to the first pin position. I've had golf balls pass me by from the driving range and over the fairway beyond on a few different occasions. I just wish I had the ability to hit a golf ball that far! The clubhouse, as well as the rest of the personnel, is outstanding. I've also eaten in the clubhouse on several occasions and attended private night time charity dinners that have been held here as well. On Wednesday, April 17th, I enjoyed a fantastic Full English Breakfast, which was very delicious. It is definitely worthwhile to give this golf club a shot, and who knows, you could wind up becoming a member yourself.
