Chale Visitors Hospitality Guide

Chale, located on the beautiful island of Isle of Wight, is an excellent base for visitors wishing to enjoy and explore Chale and its surrounding areas. The town offers a variety of excellent lodging options, ranging from fine hotels to basic bed and breakfast establishments, as well as some excellent local hospitality, making it an excellent choice. Whatever sort of holiday or business accommodation you desire, you will find it in or near Chale on the Isle of Wight and its surrounding areas.

Exploring Chale, Chale on the Isle of Wight, has a view of Chale Bay. This section of the shore has historically been hazardous to ships and has been heavily utilised by wreckers. With the exception of the church, which has a large Perpendicular tower that was originally used as a maritime beacon, the village of Chale is nondescript. However, the manor house, now known as the Abbey Farm, comes from the 14th century and there is a beautiful 15th century barn.

Blackgang Chine is located about half a mile to the south and gets its name from the historical smuggling gangs that used to operate there. With the exception of this stream-cut chine, whose walls of dark-blue clay interspersed with yellow sandstone climb 400 feet above the sea, there is no route down to the beach. When the clay is wet, it becomes a manifestation of the "blue slipper," capable of sliding the layers above it off high points and into the sea, bringing houses and topsoil with them. It discusses the Landslip, as well as the Upper and Lower Slips, which are prominent elements of this coastline.
The Observation Post offers excellent views of the surrounding region and, in addition to a car park and café, it has a children's labyrinth, a water garden, and a museum.
Many damaged ship artefacts are on exhibit in the museum, including two Armada deck cannons and the bone of an 82-foot whale.
