Wiltshire's Britford The community is small, with several lovely cottages, and it is located on the Avon's banks. The nave of the crucifomi church was built on Anglo-Saxon foundations and still has remnants of this period's work.
The majority of the church is decorated, and the tower was built in 1764.
Several recesses were uncovered when Street repaired the church in 1873, and two at the east end of the nave were supposed to have once led to side chapels. One is carved with a vine scroll pattern, while the other is less ornately decorated. They could be from the 9th or 11th centuries, or perhaps from Roman times.
