The course is tight with 9 very different holes, but if you keep it straight a good score is there for the taking, the narrow soft turfed fairways are a joy to play off, although some of the greens are a little difficult to hit and rather small, the new greens along the Loch side are larger and more undulating the three short par threes are super little holes, the new 3rd you play off and elevated tee, down to a large green with a pond waiting at the rear.

The 6th modelled on the 6th at Royal Dornoch and the 8th green a new challenge awaits, if you play this beautiful maintained course especially the new par 5, fifth hole, Bonar Bridge course makes a lovely contrast to Sutherland's links courses, advance booking are not necessary, visitors can play the course at all times, ladies and gents toilet and changing rooms are available to visitors throughout the season, birds and animals are in abundance including deer, buzzards and the ponds are full of wild life.

Top Attractions In And Around Bonar Bridge Golf Club

The breathtaking Scottish Highlands are home to the Bonar Bridge Golf Club, which can be found in this region known for its abundance of natural beauty and opportunities for outdoor recreation in addition to golf. Although the golf club is the principal attraction, Bonar Bridge and the surrounding area provide a variety of other exciting activities and attractions, including the following:

Dornoch is a delightful town located just a short drive away from Bonar Bridge. It is recognised for its mediaeval cathedral, gorgeous coastline, and the renowned Royal Dornoch Golf Club, which is frequently regarded as one of the best golf courses in the world.

Falls of Shin: The Falls of Shin can be found close to the north of the Bonar Bridge and are a well-known location for seeing salmon jumping during the warmer months of the year. Because it has a tourist centre, as well as walking paths and dining options, it is an excellent place to take the kids.

This ancient edifice in the middle of Dornoch is known as Carnegie Hall, and it frequently plays host to a variety of cultural activities such as theatre, dance, and musical performances. You should check the schedule to see if there are any activities taking place at the time of your visit.

On the picturesque Dornoch Beach, you may take a leisurely stroll or spend the day beachcombing. It is a serene location, perfect for having picnics and breathing in the fresh sea air.

Glenmorangie Distillery: Whisky lovers may think about taking a tour of the Glenmorangie Distillery, which is one of the most well-known single malt whisky makers in Scotland. The process of creating whisky will be explained, and tastes will be provided.

Visit some of the area's historic sites, such as Dunrobin Castle, the Castle of Mey, and Carbisdale Castle, to learn more about the region's long and illustrious past. All of these locations provide unique perspectives on the region's illustrious past.

The Highlands are a paradise for anyone who enjoy being outside and doing things like hiking and other outdoor activities. There are several different hiking paths, such as the Strathoykel Trail and the Kyle of Sutherland Path, that give breath-taking perspectives of the surrounding landscape. In addition to seeing animals and riding mountain bikes, other popular activities include fishing.

Take your time and enjoy a leisurely stroll around the quaint Bonar Bridge town to take in the picturesque architecture, shops, and restaurants. You may also travel across the Bonar Bridge to obtain a stunning panorama of the Kyle of Sutherland and the scenery in the surrounding area.

Highland Games: Depending on the time of year that you travel to Scotland, you may have the opportunity to participate in a Highland Games event, which is a traditional Scottish gathering that includes musical performances, athletic events, and other activities.

The golf course at Bonar Bridge Golf Club is, without a doubt, the most popular activity offered at this facility. Participate in an exciting round of golf on the course while taking in the breathtaking views of the Highlands.

A Highland Gem for Golf Enthusiasts

Certainly, here's a fictional review for Bonar Bridge Golf Club:

Title: A Highland Gem for Golf Enthusiasts

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Bonar Bridge Golf Club, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Nestled in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, this golf club combines the beauty of the natural landscape with a challenging and well-maintained course.

The first thing that strikes you is the stunning scenery. Surrounded by rolling hills and overlooking the picturesque Kyle of Sutherland, it's hard not to be captivated by the breathtaking views. The course is expertly designed to make the most of this natural beauty, and every tee offers a new perspective on the Highland landscape.

As a golfer, I appreciate a challenging course, and Bonar Bridge did not disappoint. The fairways are in excellent condition, and the greens are true and fast. The layout incorporates the natural contours of the land, creating some exciting elevation changes and doglegs that keep you on your toes. The well-placed bunkers and water hazards add strategic elements to each hole.

The clubhouse provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the bar and restaurant offered a selection of traditional Scottish dishes that were a perfect post-round treat. Haggis with a side of neeps and tatties is a must-try for anyone looking to embrace the local culture.

What sets Bonar Bridge Golf Club apart is the traditional Scottish golfing experience. It felt like a step back in time, with a focus on the pure joy of the game. The lack of modern distractions and a true connection with nature make this a golfing paradise.

Whether you're a golf enthusiast or just looking to soak in the Highland scenery, Bonar Bridge Golf Club is a hidden gem that deserves recognition. I can't wait to return for another round on this exceptional course and savor the beauty and camaraderie it offers.

Pros:

Spectacular Highland scenery
Challenging and well-maintained course
Friendly and welcoming staff
Traditional Scottish golfing experience
Cons:

Limited public transportation options to reach the club
Overall, Bonar Bridge Golf Club is a golfing haven in the Scottish Highlands, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to fellow golfers and nature enthusiasts alike.
