Exploring Drayton Oxfordshire, which is located around two and a half miles south of Abingdon amid flat terrain.
It was mostly an agricultural community prior to World War I, although there has been significant growth in recent years. Nonetheless, the community includes a church yard and a village cross, as well as several lovely houses and a Georgian manor house on the High Street. The church was renovated in the nineteenth century and has artwork from several periods. The chancel doorway dates from the early 13th century. The majority of the windows, as well as the north arcade, are perpendicular. The most striking feature, however, is an alabaster reredos with six panels depicting Christ's life. This was discovered in the graveyard, where it had been buried for years.
