Visiting Dornoch Beach

Dornoch Beach is a Blue Flag beach, is ideal for families with its gentle shallows, sheltering dunes and miles of golden sands. Dornoch Beach is a very dog friendly, everything is clean, unspoiled and is not commercialised, lovely beach sandy walk for a long way dogs can run free, There are dunes behind the beach and it’s all lovely for a good walk with or without a dog.

There is car parking and picnic tables at the back of the beach and a lovely kiddies playground at the side of the caravan site with sweeping views up the Dornoch Firth, to the south across to the lighthouse at Tarbet Ness above Portmahomack and over to the Moray coast.

The water is shallow for a long way out, making it a pretty safe beach for swimming and playing around with lots of shells on the beach. Visiting Dornoch Beach is a must-do for anyone who wants to experience Scotland's stunning North Coast. With its majestic sea views, unspoilt beaches and picturesque village of fishing cottages, it makes for an unforgettable holiday destination.
