Carrbridge Golf Course Accommodation Guide this is a 9-hole course, remote, quaint, beautifully and well maintained, a challenging course where the 5th tee plays over another green, through a gap and over a gully to a green some 50-100 yards down the hill, best to take an iron shot to the landing area on top of the ridge and a 7-9 iron shot from there onto the green. There are wonderful views across Strath Spey to mountains of the Cairngorms from the 7th Tee and birds, bunnies and the...

Carrbridge Holiday Accommodation Guide

Carrbridge Holiday Accommodation Guide, this Speyside village lies on the banks of the brawling river Dulnain, whose waters from the Monadhliarh Mountains make no small contribution to the flood and flow of the Spey.

Now popular holiday resort, in past decades it was a thriving health centre, which boosted its trade when the Carrbridge section of the Highland Line was opened in 1892.

Carrbridge was at one time an important staging post for the Inverness mail coaches. The old, high-arched bridge spanning the Dulnain was built in 17I7 so that funerals could pass safely to the old churchyard at Duthill, after an incident in which two men were lost trying to cross the river in flood.
